Terms of Sale
Last updated: September 30, 2026
These terms apply to every Subscription and every purchase of Credit on Kopik, and to the remuneration of Creators.
This English version is provided for convenience. The French version is the legally binding one and prevails in case of any discrepancy. Read the French version
1. Scope
These terms of sale govern the sale by DOM ENGINEERING (the “Publisher”) on Kopik of the chat subscription (the “Subscription”), prepaid Credit and paid Questions asked via the API or MCP, as well as the remuneration of Creators. They supplement the Terms of Use, whose definitions apply.
2. Prices
The Subscription costs €12 per month, all taxes included. This price is shown before subscribing.
The price of a Question asked via the API or MCP is set by the Creator of each knowledge base, between €0.10 and €5.00, and shown on its page (and returned by the API) before the Question is asked. Prices are in euros, all taxes included.
3. Free questions
Every account with a verified email address gets 1 free Question per month, on the website only. It does not carry over, has no cash value and do not generate any remuneration for Creators. A Creator's own Questions to their knowledge bases are free, within a fair-use limit of 200 Questions per day, and do not generate any remuneration either.
4. Subscription
The Subscription gives access, on the website, to the chat of every knowledge base the Subscriber can view, within a monthly included usage. This usage is measured by the computing resources each answer consumes and shown as a percentage in a gauge, on the website and in the dashboard. A Question for which the knowledge base has nothing relevant, or whose answer fails for a technical reason, is not counted. Unused usage does not carry over to the next period.
Once the included usage is used up, Questions on the website are no longer processed until renewal, unless the Subscriber has Credit, in which case they are debited at each base's price. The Subscription does not cover Questions asked via the API or MCP, which are debited from Credit (sections 5 and 6).
The Subscription has no minimum term and renews automatically every month, on the anniversary of the subscription date. Payment is made by bank card only, processed by Stripe, and taken at the start of each period; a receipt is sent by email. If a payment fails, access is suspended until it is settled.
The Subscriber may cancel at any time from their dashboard (“Manage or cancel my subscription”). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current, already paid period, during which access is maintained; no further payment is taken. The current period is not refunded, subject to the right of withdrawal (section 8).
The Publisher may change the Subscription price or the included usage for the future; the Subscriber is informed by email at least 30 days before the renewal concerned and may cancel before that date.
5. Prepaid credit
Paid Questions asked via the API or MCP are debited from a prepaid Credit, topped up in the amounts offered on the website (€10, €25, €50, €100). Payment is made by bank card only and processed by Stripe; Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link are accepted insofar as they use a bank card. The Publisher never stores your card details. Credit is available as soon as the payment is confirmed, and a receipt is sent by email.
Credit does not expire. It is personal and cannot be transferred to another account.
If a top-up payment is refunded or disputed (chargeback), the corresponding Credit is withdrawn from the account.
6. Billing per question
Each paid Question is debited from the Credit when the answer is delivered, at the price displayed. If the Credit is insufficient, the Question is not processed.
A Question is not charged when the knowledge base contains nothing relevant to answer it, or when the answer fails for a technical reason.
7. No refunds
Purchased Credit is neither refundable nor convertible into cash, including when it is not used, when the Buyer closes their account, or when the account is suspended for a breach of the Terms of Use.
A Question that has received an answer is never refunded, including when the answer does not suit the Buyer. (A Question for which the knowledge base has nothing relevant, or whose answer fails for a technical reason, is simply neither charged nor counted.)
The only exceptions are the exercise of the right of withdrawal under the conditions of section 8, and the permanent closure of the Service by the Publisher, in which case the remaining Credit and the unexpired part of the current Subscription period are refunded.
8. Right of withdrawal
Subscription. Consumers have 14 days from subscribing to withdraw, without giving any reason, by writing to hello@kopik.fr from the email address of the account. Before paying, they expressly request that the service start immediately (article L.221-25 of the French Consumer Code), by ticking the box provided for that purpose. If they withdraw, they are refunded within 14 days to the original payment method, minus an amount proportional to the service provided until withdrawal, based on the share of the monthly included usage already consumed; the Subscription ends immediately.
Credit. Credit is digital content supplied immediately after payment. Before paying, the consumer Buyer expressly requests that the Credit be made available immediately and acknowledges that they lose their right of withdrawal as soon as they ask their first paid Question after the purchase (article L.221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code). As long as no paid Question has been asked since the purchase, the consumer may withdraw within 14 days of the purchase by writing to hello@kopik.fr; the amount of that purchase is then refunded to the original payment method within 14 days.
Professional Buyers (acting for their trade, business or profession) have no right of withdrawal.
9. Creator remuneration
For every Question asked to their knowledge base by a Subscriber on the website, the Creator earns a fixed amount of €0.02. For every paid Question asked to their knowledge base via the API or MCP, they earn 70% of the price paid by the Buyer. The remaining share covers computing costs, payment fees and the operation of the Service. Free Questions do not generate any remuneration. The Publisher may change the fixed amount for the future, informing Creators at least 30 days in advance.
Earnings accumulate on the Creator's account and are shown in their dashboard. Earnings become payable 90 days after the Question that generated them, to cover payment disputes. Payable earnings are paid out on request, by bank transfer, from a minimum of €10, using the payout request in the Creator's dashboard. If a Buyer's payment is disputed or found to be fraudulent, the earnings generated by that Buyer's Questions are withheld or deducted from future payouts. The Publisher may ask for the information needed for the payment and for its legal obligations (identity, bank details, invoice for professionals).
The Creator is responsible for declaring their earnings to the tax and social security authorities. The Publisher may withhold, cancel or recover earnings resulting from fraudulent or abusive Questions, from payments that are refunded or disputed, or from content that breaches the Terms of Use.
10. Liability
The Publisher's liability is limited as provided in the Terms of Use. Answers are generated by a language model and do not constitute professional advice.
11. Customer service, governing law and disputes
For any question or claim: hello@kopik.fr. These terms are governed by French law. Consumers may use a consumer mediator free of charge. Failing an amicable solution, the competent French courts have jurisdiction, subject to the mandatory rules protecting consumers.
