Create your AI assistant from your documents, in 2 minutes.
Drop your PDFs, Word files or notes. Kopik turns them into an assistant that answers with its sources and never makes things up. Share it, add it to your website, or sell it.

How it works
Three steps, no code
Documents
Drag and drop PDF, Word, TXT, Markdown, CSV or HTML, or reuse an existing base. Indexing takes seconds and you watch it happen.
Personalization
Name, avatar, color, instructions (tone, scope, language), welcome message and suggested questions. A live chat preview shows the result as you type.
Sharing
Choose who can use it, then copy the link, the widget code or the API key. A dashboard shows the conversations and the questions without an answer.
What you get
A production RAG pipeline, without building one
Retrieval-augmented generation is how you make an AI answer from your documents instead of guessing. Kopik runs the whole pipeline so you can focus on the knowledge.
Automatic ingestion
Text extraction, chunking into overlapping passages and full-text indexing on every upload, tuned to the document language you choose (English, French, German, Spanish and more).
Smart retrieval
Before searching, a language model expands each question into keywords and synonyms in your documents' language, so the right passage surfaces even when the wording, or the language of the question, differs.
Sourced answers
Answers are written only from the retrieved passages and cite them. If the base doesn't cover it, it says so.
REST API & MCP server
Every base is an endpoint. Plug it into Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or your own agent with one API key.
Your private RAG
Keep a base private and query it from the web, the API or MCP with your own key, for free. A RAG backend for your agents, with nothing to host.
Built for agents
Set a maximum price per call so a looping agent never pays more than planned. Base content comes back flagged as untrusted data, never as instructions.

RAG API · MCP
Plug your AI agents into expert knowledge.
Every knowledge base can be queried over a REST API or through Kopik's MCP server, from Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or your own agent. Same credit, same price, same cited answers. Cap the price of each call, get clear error codes, and query your own private bases for free: a RAG API the moment you upload.

What is a Kopik assistant?
An assistant is one of your knowledge bases plus a configuration (name, avatar, instructions, welcome message, suggested questions) and ways to reach it: a share link, a widget for your website, the API and MCP. It answers only from your documents, cites its sources, and says so when they don't cover the question.
How do I add the assistant to my website?
Choose the "Private · you pay for your users" mode, add your domain to the allowed websites, then paste the one-line script tag before </body>. A chat bubble appears in the corner of your pages. You can also embed a full-page chat with an iframe. The widget refuses to open on any other website.
Who pays for the questions?
You choose when you create the assistant. Public: listed in the catalogue, the people asking pay (free questions, then a subscription or credit) and you earn on every question. Private, paid by your guests: same thing, for the people you invite. Private, paid by you: your guests and your website visitors ask for free, and each question (€0.05) is taken from your prepaid credit, with a monthly limit if you want one.
What is a RAG knowledge base?
RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) means the AI first retrieves the relevant passages from a set of documents, then writes its answer from them. A Kopik knowledge base is your documents, split into passages and indexed, ready to answer questions with sources.
How do I build a knowledge base from my documents?
Create a free account, give your base a title, a topic and its document language, then upload your files: PDF (with selectable text; scanned PDFs can't be read), Word .docx, TXT, Markdown, CSV, TSV, JSON, HTML or XML, up to 4 MB each. You can also paste text. Kopik indexes them in seconds, and the base grows with every upload.
How are creators paid?
A fixed amount for every subscriber question asked to your base in the chat, and 70% of the price of every paid request from an agent (REST API or MCP). Earnings become payable 90 days after the question (to cover payment disputes) and are paid by bank transfer on request.
Does my knowledge base have to be public?
No. It can be listed in the catalogue, unlisted (reachable only through its link, which contains a long random identifier) or private, visible to you alone.
Can I use Kopik as a private RAG for my own agents?
Yes. Make a base private, create an API key, and query it from the web, the REST API or MCP. Questions to your own bases are free (fair use: 200 a day). No vector database, no pipeline, no server to run.
How much does it cost?
In the chat, 1 question is free every month with an account and a verified email. After that, the subscription (€12 a month, no commitment) opens every base in the library, with monthly usage included and shown as a gauge. Agents and apps querying via API or MCP pay per request, at the price shown on each base, from prepaid credit topped up by card (€10, €25, €50, €100).
Is prepaid credit refundable?
Credit never expires but is not refundable. The one exception is the legal right of withdrawal: within 14 days of purchase, as long as you haven't asked a paid question since. Before paying, you confirm you want immediate access and that your first paid question ends that right.
What if the base doesn't have the answer?
The answer says so plainly, and a question that finds nothing relevant is not billed, nor is one that fails for a technical reason. You only pay for answers drawn from the documents.
Do creators see my questions?
Creators see the text of the questions asked to their bases, and which ones found nothing, but never who asked. It's how they improve their base. So avoid putting personal details in them.
How do I query a base from Claude, Cursor or another agent?
Create an API key in your dashboard, then connect Kopik's MCP server or call the REST API. You can set a maximum price per call, and the developer docs have copy-paste examples.
Your documents have answers. Let them speak.
Create your assistant for free in two minutes, then share it, put it on your website or publish it in the catalogue.
